Welcome Bonus Offers Grow More Than 200%
In our research, we examined online casinos that we have reviewed within the last 12 months. We analyzed bonus offers between July 2025 and December 2025 and between January 2026 and 2026. Overall the data consists of 53 new casinos.
On the second half of 2025, the average bonus package per brand was $2,114.04 whereas within the last six month, the average has been $6,651.19.
In addition to bonus money, the amount of free spins also increased from a total of 4,760 to 7,000. Therefore it can be determined the casinos are in fact trying to attract players with significantly larger welcome packages.

How Many Welcome Bonuses Can Players Claim?
What’s interesting is that when it comes to the division of the welcome package, online casinos are mainly divided into two camps. You either have a straightforward one deposit bonus or a bigger package that consists of 3 or 4 deposits. There was not a single two-deposit package which tells us that players either want to be one and done or enjoy the full benefits of a larger package.
There wasnt't any difference with these results when comparing the two six-month periods.
Findings: Why Are the Bonus Offers Increasing?
Based on our own study, players are claiming less and less bonus offers. Only around 20 to 30% start with a welcome bonus which means online casinos can afford to be outrageous with the bonus offers.
What is also worth pointing out that the match-up amounts have not been increasing. Usually the biggest bonus you can claim within the perimeters of these offers is 100%. Therefore the casino will pay one dollar agains your dollar in bonus money. And it is a very small percentage of players who will make a $10,000 first deposit in order to claim a similar amount in bonuses.
If the match-up bonuses would be 300% or even 200%, it would be a totally different story. What we can determine is that these huge up to $25,000 bonus packages are created purely with showmanship in mind and do not really give any real value to customers.
We also need to take into consideration the fact that the average wagering requirements within these bonus offers where up to 35x for both the deposit and bonus.
The variety of bonus offers was nearly non existent. Almost all offers had just deposit bonuses and free spins. The lack of larger match-up bonuses (only two), non wagering bonuses (not a single one) or low-wagering requirements (only one 10x wagering offer for free spins) was alarming.
