How Mustang Rush Works

The setup of Mustang Rush is pretty traditional since it features a 5x3 game grid. The slot has 20 fixed paylines and wins are always paid from left to right. It has eight different symbols spinning on the reels: four high-paying ones with various characters and animals and four low-paying ones (ace, heart, club and diamond).

The minimum bet while playing is $0,20 and the maximum bet is set at $100. The maximum win is 5,105x your bet size so the slot does have nice winning potential. And we have not even discussed the four jackpots yet.

Mustang Rush is a bonus buy slot which means you can buy your way into the bonus game without waiting for it to trigger on its own. The cost is 40x your bet size.

Mustang Rush RTP and Volatility

Mustang Rush comes with an RTP of 95% which honestly is a bit lower than what we would have hoped. It still falls under the average return to player percentage when comparing to other slots but since most new games do manage to introduce at least 96% RTP, we can not be too excited about this.

However, Megarush is a high volatile game. It scores 4 out of 5 in the volatility scale which means you do have the potential to claim pretty nice wins with one round.

Special Features

Now its time to move onto the good stuff aka special features - and Mustang Rush has quite a lot of them. Let’s start with the basics. During the base game you will encounter wilds with stacked x2 and x3 multipliers that boost your wins whenever they land on a winning combination.

Whenever a wild appears, it becomes sticky and triggers a respin function on all the reels that do not have wild symbols present. The feature continues until no new wild symbols appear - or the grid is filled only with wild symbols.

But what’s most exciting is definitely the bonus game with the potential to win one of four jackpots: Grand ($20,000), Major ($5,000), Minor ($2,000) or Mini ($500). In order to active the bonus game with three respins you need to collect 6 special and/or jackpot symbols. The special symbols are horse shoes that can have 1x-10x multipliers and jackpot symbols are sheriff badges.

During the bonus game, only special and jackpot symbols pay and they stick to the reels. When a new symbol appears, the number of respins are set to 3. The jackpot game ends when you have no more respins or the reels are completely packed. You will either win the amount calculated from the special symbol multipliers or win one of the four jackpots.

Verdict

At a first glance Mustang Rush seems just another Wild West slot - and boy do we already have those. However during further testing, the game proved to be quite entertaining with thrilling features such as respins, jackpots and stacked multiplier wilds. So there is plenty of action and the possibilities for nice wins are definitely there.

I really liked that Mustang Rush was high volatility game but there is no tiptoeing around the fact that the RTP is slightly too low for a game launched in 2025. Of course I have to give a little leeway due to the fact that the game does have jackpots which tend to affect RTP’s.
